What to Expect
Why walk with the crowds & stand in line when you can ride a bike & skip the line?
We take the fast train to Versailles, hop on bikes to explore our beautiful town, award-winning food market & shop like a local for a French picnic lunch. We ride through the breath-taking Royal Grounds, admire Louis’ Royal Gardens & Fountains, ride past the Trianons & visit Marie Antoinette’s Hamlet, all whilst hearing the gossip & scandalous tales of the French Royal Family.
Having worked up an appetite we lay out our authentic French picnic lunch by the Grand Canal. There is no better place to picnic & relax in the sun!
Our Versailles Bike Tour includes a skip the line guided tour inside the Château. Versailles was home to the most powerful family in the world for over a century, if there is one Château to see, this is the one!

Cara, our guide, was beyond kind and patient, and was the best story teller! I never thought I’d enjoy Versailles as much as I did (as I’m not a big history buff) but Cara got me hooked and now I’m watching all the films /reading all the books. Thanks again for making our trip so memorable! Will never forget it.read moreread lessCristina9/30/2022
- Book this experience! We had an incredible day exploring the city of Versailles and the palace grounds and gardens. Every aspect was thoughtfully planned which made for a very special day, indeed!read moreread lessElizabeth6/17/2022This experience was one of the best we have done (and we travel alot!). We have 2 kids - ages 10 and 14, and they also had an amazing time. Our guide was so engaging and super attentive to our small group. The history and storytelling kept all of us asking for more. It's truly the only way to see Versailles. I would highly recommend this tour and hope to be back someday.read moreread lessPam11/23/2021We we're in Paris for about 72 hours total and wanted to do Versailles one day. Seemed difficult to manage on our own so we found a bike tour. This thing was ridiculously worth the price. Like, the amount of money you pay for these guides to hang out with you for 8-10 hours doesn't seem like enough. You'll be lucky if you can book tickets a few months out as I hear it's booking up fast. I can't imagine anyone being dissatisfied with one of their tours. - Book it today! I cannot think of a better way to tour Versailles - which would be too large to walk and we got to skip the line. The bike guiding, instructions, and storytelling were amazing on this tour. I highly recommend this experience to see Versailles. The timing was even seamless with the trains. The lunch at the head of the Grand Canal was leisurely and pleasant, not rushed at all, so we could enjoy the beautiful food and drink we acquired at the market. - Book this tour now you will not regret it! Amazing day in Versailles. Our guide was excellent and an amazing storyteller. The whole experience was completely worth it. Would come back and do it again anytime.read moreread lessKatie4/30/2022I was severely jet-lagged and more than a bit hungover the day of my tour with Stu and Niki. That morning I was dreading going on this tour. My wife (less hung over and less jet-lagged) and I made our way to the meeting point and met Niki, the cheeriest person you'll ever meet.
Niki lead the group onto the train. Walked us to the 'bat cave'. Biked us from there to Versailles then started the tour with an intro to Louis the XIV, as we waited to get in. From there Stu took over and lead us from room to room, painting to painting, grand chandelier to chandelier. Expertly explaining all the relevant details while walking us through the lives of Louis the XIV, XV, and XVI. Doing all this without once losing my interest. His knowledge of all things Versailles was incredible but more than that his ability to keep the tour fun/interesting was very impressive.
The after-tour bike ride and lunch led by Niki was a delight. She took us to the other end of the huge canal that we saw from the inner garden. Laid out a huge picnic complete with bread, cheeses, charcuterie, fruits and more.
I went from dreading the tour to it being the highlight of my trip to France. Stu and Niki were amazing. I would and have been recommending this tour to anyone thinking about going to Paris.
If you go to the Palace of Versailles without going on this tour you are making a mistake.read moreread lessKazuma10/03/2019Our Tour of Versailles with Stu & Niki was quite possibly the best vacation day of our entire lives. Please ignore that one person who ridiculously gave the only four-star review out of almost 800 people - we all know people like that. If you are even considering a visit to Versailles, for the first time or not, you simply must book a tour with BBT. You will experience the property like never before, develop friendships with your small group, shop at the local market for your own picnic lunch by the canal, and make lifelong memories that bring a smile to your face every time you think back to that magical day. We feel lucky to have experienced what clearly is a passion for every BBT guide, who all are utterly positive, talented, funny and kind. I am proud to recommend them 100% and booking another tour next time we visit is at the very top of our list.read moreread lessMustardKing8/05/2020
