What to Expect

Why walk with the crowds & stand in line when you can bike, brunch & skip the line?

We take the train to Versailles where we are licensed to guide inside and Skip the infamous Line through a dedicated side entrance reserved for licensed guides to explore the Château & iconic Hall of Mirrors. We ride through the town, and visit the local market to shop for our picnic lunch, before riding into the breath-taking Royal Grounds.

The stunning 2,000 acres of Versailles are far larger than most expect. You can save your feet, escape the crowds & discover secret places seen by few tourists & unknown to Parisians. Our bikes enable us to access places others cannot, the ride is leisurely, far from the Tour de France!

Having worked up an appetite we lay out our French picnic brunch by the Grand Canal. The perfect way to finish a day exploring, with a view of the Palace!

All adult guests must be able to ride a bike. Leisurely riding on this tour – far from the Tour de France!

This is a fabulous experience for anyone that wishes to see Versailles. Nico was our guide, and he did a fantastic job coordinating the entire day and making sure everything went smoothly. He is very knowledgeable in French history and entertains you with stories of kings and queens. We thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience. Make sure you are comfortable with riding bikes, because you will be riding all around.

Having a guide so easy on the eyes and charming persona made this trip a highlight of our 2 weeks in France. Nikolai stories and enthusiasm was the highlight of the experience. We learned so much about Versailles and stories and drama that surrounded the palace. Very entertaining and educating. The bike riding was magical through the palace grounds and the picnic was perfect with amazing cheeses, wine and fruit. We enjoyed the company of everyone on the tour. Bicycles were cute with the baskets but somewhat uncomfortable of a ride.

Clara was such a wonderful guide. I was disappointed when the tour was over as her storytelling skills are phenomenal. Her warmth and energy was infectious. This is a fantastic way to see the town, shop at the local marche, picnic and experience Versailles. The biking was easy for an intermediate level. The Marie Antoinette hamlet was a lovely surprise! I would love to have Clara anytime on any tour!

It’s sick (excellent) from my 12 year old! If you are looking for a magical and unique experience, book this adventure. Fiona our guide is fantastic, she is knowledgeable, personable, patient and happy. You can tell she enjoys her job which make such a difference. She answered all of our questions and she paced us perfectly. We met her at the train station, picked up our bikes and we rode to Versailles. We toured the chateau, went to a market, picnic on the grounds while telling us the story of King Louis the 14, 15 and 16! This is a memory that will always bring a smile to my face.

Is it safe to cycle in Versailles?

It is almost as if Versailles was designed with our bike tour in mind. The majority of our ride takes place within the Royal Gardens, where we can enjoy stress-free cycling, far from the traffic and crowds. Outside of the gardens, cycle paths weave their way throughout the town and are set on the footpaths, away from traffic.

Do feel free to come earlier for a coffee & croissant to kick start your day.

Once in Versailles we saddle up on bikes that are stored at our base in Versailles.

Is this tour appropriate for children?

We frequently have children join our tours, and have a fleet of children’s bikes, tandems, child-seats and helmets for them – we love sharing the day with families and take great pride in entertaining and ensuring the safety of all ages throughout the day.

Do your tours of Versailles include a guided tour of the Château?

Of course. All our tours of Versailles include a guided tour of the Palace with a fully licensed member of our team. We do not abandon you with an audio guide. We use earpieces so you can hear your guide, can ask questions & don’t miss a thing! If there is one Palace in the world to visit, this is the one!

What happens if it rains?

All of our tours operate rain or shine and we provide free rain jackets. As we are licensed to guide inside the Château we do adapt & spend more time inside the Palace. We bring rain jackets, good humor & a sense of adventure!

We limit our group sizes to 12 riders per group in Versailles to keep you safe, cover more ground & offer a personalised experience.

Do I need to carry my bike onto the train?

Absolutely not, our bikes are located in Versailles.

What should I bring?
